No. SURS statutes stipulate that everyone, with one exception, will contribute 8% (full time community college employees contribute an additional ½% for health insurance). If members wish to defer additional income, they should contact their Human Resources Department and inquire about contributing to either a 403(b) or 457 plan. SURS began offering a 457 deferred compensation plan in the first half of 2021, subject to an adoption date to be determined by each employer.
