During pre-retirement counseling, RSP members will be provided with an annuity illustration from Principal Financial Group as well as an estimate of monthly income payable from the SURS Lifetime Income Strategy. In addition, members are encouraged to utilize the LIS income estimator which is available through the SURS Member Website. You may also call the SURS Defined Contribution Contact Center at 800-613-9543 and ask to speak to a LIS specialist. You may use more than one option.
If you have received an annuity illustration from Principal Financial and would like to request an additional illustration, please send SURS an email through the “webmail” option on the SURS member website. Please keep in mind that due to the variables involved, these illustrations cannot be generated more than one to two months into the future.
If you have frozen assets with TIAA (assets that were in certain TIAA funds prior to the September 2020 conversion) you may be eligible for a TIAA annuity as well. For a TIAA illustration, please call 800-842-2252. Members who have assets in certain TIAA funds will be provided information regarding TIAA annuity options.
